Negin Singh

Negin Singh (pat-pat), a 2008 theater graduate from UC-Irvine, is the Co-artistic director of The Ahimsa Collective and the director of Everybody Nose's first show, Everybody Nose Coffee. She identifies as a Director, Performance Artist, Clown, Actor, Improviser, and Producer, and you can see her do all these things at once while creating the perfect mushroom basil pasta sauce.

Jack De Sena

Jack De Sena (Kyle Ranch) is the co-artistic director of The Ahimsa Collective and a proud new clown. He assistant directed Everybody Nose Coffee and loves helping others find and refind and refine their clowns. When wearing less make-up, often none at all, Jack is a writer/ director/ actor/ performance artist/ wide receiver. He studied theatre at UCLA, where he also ate dorm food and mismanaged time.

Cambria Beilstein

Cambria Beilstein (Molly) has been working as a clown for three years, originally trained with Eli Simon at UCI. She has traveled and trained clowns abroad including Italy and Korea and has toured in Simon's troupe CLOWNZILLA. Beilstein has a BA in Drama from UCI and has been in shows such as The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and Under Milk Wood at UC Irvine, and the Ahimsa Collective's production of Much Ado About Nothing. Other professional credits include the San Diego Opera's production of Otello.

Laura Hartley

Laura Hartley (Penny) is a 2008 graduate of UC Irvine, where Eli Simon created this specific form of clowning. Although she was not able to study with Eli while at school, she is very excited to have the opportunity to clown with this talented group of individuals. When she is able to speak (clowning is very hush-hush), she likes to act, sing, dance and eat sushi. If you ask her nicely, she may crochet you a hat.

Jaime Richter

Jaime Richter (Saffy), having been out of art school for quite awhile, is thrilled to be involved with The Ahimsa Collective as an Associate Artist. She recently sang/meowed her way into our hearts as a performer in Everybody Nose's first show, Everybody Nose Coffee. She identifies as a Musician, Visual Artist, Performance Artist, and now Clown. Her favorite animal is a kitten.

Colin O'Brien-Lux

Colin O'Brien-Lux (Doctor) is a current theater major at UCLA and an Ahimsa Collective ensemble member debuing his clown, Doctor, in Ahimsa's new clown troupe: Everybody Nose. He loves eye contact and apologizes for any goosebumps received on Doctor's account.

Deirdre Gaffney

Déirdre Gaffney (Chloe) was raised by a pack of moderately freindly wolves in Los Angeles, California. A graduate of Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, King's College London, and Loyola Marymount University, Déirdre throws herself headlong into as many aspects of the performing arts as she can, with particular emphasis on acting, circus arts, directing, production, writing and design. She longs to find that oft rejected fellow Jose, and say to him, "Yes, Yes way Jose, Yes way."

Alex Vlahov

Alex Vlahov (Hemingspear) has studied theater for two years at UCLA and next year is off to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to earn a BA in acting. Lately he has been producing a series of concerts where an entire album is performed by various artists, and working on an original one-act for UCLA's Theaterfest. He is a member of Veritas, a mainstage team at Ultimate Improv in Westwood CA. Notable recent roles include Prince Henri de Conde in John Whiting's The Devils, Sergeant in Harold Pinter's Mountain Language, and himself in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).

Kai Hazelwood

Kai Hazelwood (Violet) has been dancing for over 19 years blending a traditional ballet background with contemporary lyricism, modern, and post-modern influences, funk, and ethnic flair ranging from West African to Argentine Tango dancing. After completing a season with the Oakland Ballet Company, Kai has relocated to Los Angeles where she is currently enjoying taking short comtracts with local dance companies, while working as a dance fitness instructor, personal trainer, and is developing her first evening length production of her own work.

Chris Smith

Chris Smith (Clock), a 2007 theater graduate from UCLA, now works as the creative producer/director of Attention Span Media, a new media production company. Having experience both in front and behind the camera, Chris has gone on to write and direct his own feature film Shadow in the Trees as well as co-write, co-direct, and star in the web series Dorm-Life'. Chris is also an accomplished juggler and is looking for any excuse to throw things and catch them again.

Jean Martin

Jean Martin (JunkyJean) trained as an actor at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Switzerland in 2004 and worked in theatre, dance and opera productions all around Europe. He came to the U.S. to film a documentary based Second Life - a virtual world on the internet where people can live their ideal lives. Loving the art form of film, he set up home in L.A. and continues to work as an actor, D.P., and director.... and clown!

Andy Gardner

Andy Ryan Gardner (Charlie Piddlz) loves silent, physical comedy; so this form of clowning fits right into his niche. He was raised on Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin and adores their creativity and simplicity.

Carly Nykanen

Carly Nykanen (Pepper) has performed throughout Southern California in musical theatre, improv, stand up, and of course, as a clown. She graduated from UC Irvine with honors in Acting and Musical Theatre and studied clowning there with Eli Simon. Since graduating, Carly has performed at such theatres as Starlight Music Theatre, Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities, The Old Globe, and La Jolla Playhouse Carly is thrilled to be part of Everybody Nose.

Max Schneller

Max Schneller (Chief Bearclaw) was born in a small town in Virginia. He moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to attend the USC School of Theatre, from which he graduated in 2009. Max has performed on theatrical and improv stages in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Taft, San Francisco, Richmond, and London. In recent months, most of his time has been spent on his bike.

Emmalinda MacLean

Emmalinda MacLean (Lizzie) is a recent graduate of UCLA's department of Theater and delighted to be a part of Ahimsa's clown troupe. Lizzie cries a lot. Emmalinda has cried in many of her favorite roles, including Masha in Three Sisters, Abigail in The Crucible, and Lucia in Chronology of the Day, an original piece by fellow clown and gifted playwright Kit Steinkellner. Her artistic pursuits outside of clowning and crying include pole dancing, vegan cooking, decoupaging her furniture, and a deep love of Shakespeare.

Kit Steinkellner

Kit Steinkellner (Judy Movie) comes to the land of clowning from the world of writing. As a playwright, she has been produced nationally, with productions Off Broadway (at Playwright's Horizons), the Kennedy Center, the San Diego Old Globe, and several theaters in Los Angeles. Her writing has received rave reviews from the New York Times, LA Times ('Critic's Choice') and LA Weekly ('Go!'). Additionally, her writing has been honored with awards from Stephen Sondheim, Edward Albee, Tim Robbins, Jack Nicholson, the Kennedy Center and the Sundance Institute. When not writing, Steinkellner works as a creative writing teacher, sharing the magic of the written word with kids, teens, and adults.

Chris Sawtelle

Chris Sawtelle (Rudy), a senior at UCLA's Theatre, Film, and Television Program, is stoked to be a part of Everybody Nose. As a new coming duo Chris and Rudy have had countless walks on the beach where they have discussed the nature and essence of man's female counterpart with the hope that one day the two will be able to obtain their one true love. Jordan Riggs

Jordan Riggs (Gary) graduated from UCLA in June 2009 with a degree in Psychology. (That being said, he is highly unqualified to help you with your problems.) After a two-year stint co-writing and acting in the web series Dorm Life, he is finally convinced that his love for creativity/performance is not just a pesky phase. (That being said, he is open to opposing arguments.) Having followed the exploits of The Ahimsa Collective for quite a while, Jordan is excited to be a part of this ensemble of artists. (That being said, he is also intimidated by this ensemble of artists.)

Madeline Harris

Madeline Harris (Margo) is an artist who started with classical ballet and classical theatre in the mountains of Northern California. She now finds herself performing spoken-word, modern dance, and clowning and is beyond happy to have unearthed such Socratic, new genres to add to her sprouting repertoire. She is a current student of UCLA's theatre program and is very pleased that someone like Margo exists within the marrow of her bones.

Pasha Dashtgard

Pasha Dashtgard (Olly) is a recent graduate from Pitzer College (whew! go sage hens!) where he graduated with dual honors degrees in Psychology and Philosophy. Pasha is fully in support of art, non-violence, and collectives - thus, he is content with his participation in this amazing group. When not clowning, Pasha can be seen starring in such roles as social worker, aspiring graduate student, and full time Laker fan.
